Free Online Image Compressor
Smart, visually-lossless compression. PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF and more — typically 50-80% smaller, no quality loss you can see.
Smart: 50-80% smaller, quality looks identical.
Lossless: 10-25% smaller, every pixel is byte-identical.
How smart compression works
Two compression modes, both keep your image's resolution exactly the same.
Upload
Drop one image or up to 20 at once. We support PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, HEIC and BMP.
Smart re-encode
PNGs are palette-quantized, JPEGs are re-encoded with mozjpeg, WebP/AVIF use optimal quality. Dimensions are preserved.
Download
Get the compressed file with the same name + "-compressed". For batches, grab a ZIP of all results.
Why this compressor?
Visually lossless
"Smart" mode keeps the image looking identical to the original. The savings come from removing data the eye can't perceive — without any visible change.
Same dimensions
We never resize your image. A 4000×3000 photo stays 4000×3000 — only the file size shrinks.
Batch up to 20
Drag in a folder of photos and grab them all as a single ZIP. Each file is compressed independently with the best settings for its format.
100% Free
No signup, no watermarks, no quotas. Compress as much as you want.
Private by design
Your uploads live in memory only during the request and are wiped from disk within minutes. We never store or look at your images.
Two modes
Pick Smart for the biggest savings or Lossless when you need a pixel-perfect re-encode.
Compression FAQ
In Smart mode, no — that's the whole point. The output is "visually lossless": you can flip between original and compressed side by side and you won't see a difference. In Lossless mode the output is mathematically identical, pixel for pixel.
Never. The output keeps the same width and height as the input. Only the file size goes down.
The converter changes the file format (PNG → JPG, HEIC → JPG, etc.). The compressor keeps the same format and just shrinks the file. Use compress when you want to keep your PNG as a PNG but make it smaller.
Some files are already optimised by the camera or app that produced them. When our output would actually be bigger than the original, we return your original file unchanged so you never end up with a worse version.
No. Uploads are processed in memory and deleted from the temp folder immediately after the response. Even the compressed file we hand back is wiped from our temp folder within 2 hours.
